Despite deficit, Guerneville won't slash fire staffing

Russian River fire district board members have rescinded last month’s decision to cut staffing this fall.

Instead, the Guerneville-based district voted this week to keep three firefighters on each shift. As a result, the district could go broke in less than two years.
